When Staying in a Kruger Park Camp as an add-on to your hunting safari, you will always be in an en-suite air-conditioned bungalow. It is not luxurious by any standard but very comfortable, and it has the advantage of being inside the Kruger National Park.
South Africa's National Parks Board manages these camps scattered throughout Kruger Park. The park is almost two million hectares in size and stretches roughly three hundred sixty-five kilometers from north to south, with an average of about forty-five kilometers from east to west.
The camps in the southern and central sections are in very productive game-viewing areas where you are likely to spot the Big Five in two to three days. The remote northern section offers a unique charm and very few tourists.
When visiting the Kruger National Park, you can stay at one of the park camps or at a camp in a luxury lodge on a private concession in Kruger or one of the private game reserves that form part of the Kruger National Park.
The national park camps in the Kruger National Park offer accommodation in bungalows under thatch. All the camps offer roughly the same standard of accommodation. The camps we use in our Kruger Park safaris are Skukuza, Satara, Berg-en-Dal and Lower Sabie. All of these camps are located in the southern part of the Kruger National Park. The game concentration in the southern part of the park is higher than that in the northern reaches. This area is also more easily accessible from Johannesburg and Pretoria.
In each of the camps, our clients are accommodated in bungalows with en suite bathrooms which are serviced daily. Each bungalow is equipped with air-conditioning, which comes in real handy on the warm summer days. Meals are enjoyed in the camp restaurants, which serve a variety of dishes in settings which offer views of the surrounding wilderness areas.
