Booking Procedure

A close-up of a diary calendar.

Steps in the procedure by which African hunting safaris are normally booked.

Step 1 - Contact us via our website or telephone

You can contact us via telephone, e-mail or via our website (Enquire Now/Contact Us form) to express interest in one of our packages. Alternatively, select a custom hunting safari where you can determine the number of days as well as the species which you are interested in hunting.

Step 2 - Receive a proposal from us

Within one working day of receiving your request, we will send you a detailed proposal for either the package which you selected or for a custom hunting safari, depending on your specific requirements.

Step 3 - Correspondence & amendments

Correspondence will now progress between the client and ASH Adventures. During the correspondence stage, we will alter the proposal until it meets your exact requirements. During this stage, we may also give you a call to clarify any part of the proposal, should you so require.

Step 4 - Accept proposal & confirmation of arrival / departure details

Once you are happy with the proposal, please let us know via telephone or e-mail. At this time it will also be necessary to provide us with your full arrival and departure flight details. Please also indicate whether you would like to bring your own rifles or whether you intend to hunt with one of the rifles of your professional hunter.

Step 5 - Safari confirmation, deposit & invitation letter

After making all the necessary arrangements, we will send you a safari reservation confirmation as well as a credit card authorization form via e-mail. The credit card authorization form can be used to make the 20% deposit payment. The confirmation serves as your booking confirmation. In this electronic age, we no longer mail any confirmations via physical mail.

If you have indicated that you would like to bring your own rifles, an invitation letter will be sent to you. You will need the invitation letter in order to temporarily import your rifles into the country. The process is explained in detail on the firearms page.

Step 6 - Arrival in South Africa & Safari

You will be met at the airport or any other point in Johannesburg or Pretoria by your professional hunter(s). If you are met at the airport, they will be holding a sign with your name and should be visible upon entry to the arrivals lounge. You will now enjoy a quality hunting safari in South Africa.

Step 7 - Completion of the Safari

On the final day of your safari, a short visit will be made to our office where all the necessary paperwork is attended to. You will also at this time be required to make the final payment for your hunting safari. This can be done by credit card, cash or draft transfer.

Clients are then transferred to O R Tambo International Airport or any other specified location in Pretoria or Johannesburg.

Booking Concerns

How do I know ASH Adventures is a reputable company?

ASH Adventures has been in operation since 1998. We can offer countless references from clients who have hunted with us over the years.

How is my payment protected?

Most credit cards carry insurance in case of non-delivery of service. We only require a 20% deposit and the final payment only once the safari has been finalized.
