Safari Itinerary
Guests are met upon arrival at O.R. Tambo International (Johannesburg) by their professional hunter or hunters. They will be holding a sign with your name on as you enter the arrivals lounge. From here we travel to the hunting camp which is located in the Lowveld Region of South Africa not far from the world famous Kruger National Park. The region is characterized by wooded savannah with rocky outcrops. The Drakensberg Mountains tower over the region and the view of this mountain range in the distance is quite spectacular. The Lowveld region is the primary Big Five area in South Africa and has in times past been a favorite hunting ground for some of the legendary professional hunters.
Day 2-7: Hunting Lowveld
Hunters: A typical hunting day would start just before dawn at which time coffee and rusks are enjoyed. A selection of breakfast cereals. yogurt and juice is also available at this time. We then embark on the morning hunt. We would normally hunt until about 10:30 to 11:00 at which time we would return to camp for brunch. ( A full meal which is a combination of breakfast and lunch). Some time is then devoted to relaxing in camp. The hunt is resumed at about 15:00 from which time we hunt until sunset.
The methods of hunting employed depends on the preference of the client and can consist of either waking and stalking, hunting from blinds or special vantage points from which we glass and ambush animals. The option of hunting from one of our well equipped vehicles is also available should you have any medical problems, or are limited by not being able to walk long distances. This option is also available if you wish to have a more easy going safari. Your Professional Hunter will discuss these options with you after arrival, and all are always available. It is not necessary to let us know which method you prefer prior to your arrival.
Observers: Observers are welcome to accompany the hunters on safari, alternatively they can relax in camp. Should the observers in your group be interested in visiting some of the highlights in the area while the hunters are on safari this can be arranged at an additional charge of $ 80 per observer per day. The additional cost is incurred because we have to send a dedicated guide to take care of observers. On the typical safari observers normally prefer to accompany hunters which does not incur any additional charges.
Species which are available in the Lowveld area include :
You are welcome to take trophies in addition to the ones in your package should the opportunity present itself. Additional trophies are charged at the list price.

Day 9: Kruger National Park
A sky colored gloriously by the rising sun greets guests on an early morning game drive admiring the antelope of Africa as they ready themselves for a day of grazing or browsing after the nervousness of night, when they are at their most vulnerable to the many predators in the area. Highlights of the day are sure to include sightings of one of the Big Five. The Rhino, Lion , Leopard, Buffalo and Elephant received this well known collective name in times past when the first European Hunters in Africa regarded them as the most dangerous animals on the continent. A game drive conducted during the late afternoon could offer the opportunity of spotting one of the Big Cats, readying themselves for the hunt. Both the Leopard and Lion are nocturnal and would mostly become active during the late afternoon.
Day 10: Departure
A last morning spent in the African wilderness is followed by a drive back to Johannesburg where guests are assisted with check in to their flight back to their country of origin after a memorable hunting experience in Africa.
