Eastern Free State Hunting Camps and Lodges
The Camps and Lodges we use on our hunting safaris in the Eastern Free State are all very comfortable, even luxurious. All modern amenities are available in each of the camps. The specific camp from which your safari will be conducted is determined by us prior to the start of your safari after evaluating variables such as potential droughts, trophy numbers and quality and a host of other factors which can influence your hunting safari. All hunting safaris we conduct in the Eastern Free State are conducted from one of these camps or lodges. Our success rate is very close to 100%.
Primary Lodge in the Eastern Free State 
This Lodge is a quaint country retreat situated just outside the small town of Rosendal located in the heart of the Eastern Free State. The area is nestled in a valley surrounded by the Witteberge, part of the Drakensberg range. The surrounding area is at an average elevation of just over 7000 feet above sea level making for a very pleasant climate, relatively cool in summer to downright cold in the winter months. The surrounding mountains which were formed nearly two million years ago, add to the natural beauty of this unique landscape. Green willows line the fast flowing creeks of the area set off by the numerous species of trees, shrubs and wild flowers which thrive in the fertile soil.
The area is dotted with numerous very old sandstone buildings of historical interest. It was here that the Boers struggled for their independence with the British over a century ago.
The Lodge features 17 double luxury rooms with modern, en-suite bathrooms. The under-floor heating in the bathrooms, fireplaces, electric blankets, and locally made down quilts insure your comfort on those chilly winter Free State nights. All rooms feature private outside verandas or gardens, perfect for enjoying a drink at sundown while enjoying the spectacular view of the Witteberge. Four rooms have been designed as family suites with inter-leading doors between for those who have traveled with their family. Food is of highest quality and prepared by an award winning resident chef. Menus take advantage of the abundance of local dishes and the use of fresh organic produce from the small surrounding farms.

Secondary Lodge in the Eastern Free State

This Hunting Lodge is located in the Eastern Free State just a few miles from the small town of Paul Roux between Bethlehem and Senekal. It is centrally located in an area where we have a great number of concessions areas where a large diversity of different plains game species can be hunted.
It is a distinguished old stone structure with well appointed accommodations catering to the every comfort of the hunter. Rooms are nicely furnished with modern bathrooms adjacent. A comfortable sitting room with TV, bar, and dinning room round out the amenities of this unique facility. The inviting fire pit just off the main entrance to the lodge overlooks the picturesque landscape of the Free State and is a welcome retreat from the day's hunting activities.
Food and drink are of the highest quality, with daily maid and laundry service provided. Your stay here is sure to be just one of the highlights of a hunting safari to the Free State. |
